The League shall be known as the Aylesbury vale Darts League.
The League will be overseen and run by the Officers of the League.
Teams can register as many players as they wish until the halfway point of the season (27th Jan 25). All registration form must be submitted (posted on Results WhatsApp) by 31st January 2025.
Players will only be permitted to play for one team per season NO transfers will be allowed. In the event of a player signing for more than one team, it will be the first team they throw a competitive dart for that determines who they play for.
Any team who fails to give 24 hours prior notice to postpone a game or fails to attend will forfeit the game and 22 points will be awarded to the opposition, there will also be a £10 fine imposed to the offending team to cover the cost of refreshments. Any team who fails to give 24 hours prior notice twice in any season will incur the 2-strike rule which will result in the offending team being suspended from the League for the rest of the season.
All disputes etc… will be dealt with by the Committee whose decision will be final.
We will hold competitions at the end of the season which will include Captains Cup, House Singles, House Pairs, Open Singles, Open Pairs and 2 Competitions (tba). These Competitions will be played down to the semi finals on the night with the finals to be played on Finals Night. If a player is knocked out of a competition, they must chalk the next round or find someone to chalk for them (it is not the responsibility of the person running the competition to find a Chalker).
In the event that the Captain is not available for the Captains Cup competition they will not be permitted to have their Vice Captain be a substitute. If a player/players reach a final and cannot make it, they cannot be substituted they will have to forfeit the game.
Competition forms must be handed in with all entrance fees (bank transfer where possible) by the date set by the Chairperson. (tba).
There will be a Presentation held at the end of the Winter League which will consist of Presentation of trophies/medals/money, Entertainment/Disco, Buffet and Raffle. Each Team will be given 3 Presentation Night tickets free of charge, however every team will also have to purchase 3 Presentation Night tickets to help towards the cost of the entertainment. Price of Presentation Night tickets tba.
There will be a choice of medals/trophies, money or a mixture of both for the Winners/Runners-up of the Leagues, medals/trophies for the most High Outshots and 180’s (separate ones for Prem Div/Div One), medals/trophies for the Captains Cup/House comps and Open comps. The Pam Bidgway Winners/Runners-up will receive a medal/trophy and there will be a donation to a Breast Cancer charity.Perpetual Trophies will be handed out at Presentation and will have to be signed for.
It is the responsibility for the winners of Perpetual Trophies to ensure that they are returned to the League in a clean and satisfactory condition upon request.
Trophies will be engraved by the Committee prior to them being handed out at Presentation.
An AGM will be held soon after the end of the season.
The AVDL accounts will be available for any member to see upon request at the AGM.
